When did you know? (Words and music by Alan Gillis)

When did you know we were falling in love?
Why did it take you so long?
What took you so long?

Verse 1
Monday morning 9am, is always on my mind
That Monday morning changed my life
A moment frozen in time
It's impossible to think of you now and not dream of yesterday
Careless hair swept back from your face
The light in your eyes - I knew right away

Verse 2
Da Vinci could never capture the smile
Hiding the depths of your soul
No words from Byron could ever compare with that first Hello.
Do you believe it was destiny? Did you feel the same from the start?
That Monday morning is ever so clear
Those indigo eyes - the key to your heart

When did you know we were falling in love?
I was waiting for you
When did you know there was no turning back?
When did you feel it for sure?
My knees were shaking with just one look
My head in a spin
You got my pulse racing, anticipating
Why hesitate? Why keep me waiting?

Instrumental break = ½ bridge
Repeat 2nd ½ bridge

Why did it take you so long?
What took you so long?

Story Behind the Song:
I took a couple of months off from writing songs (early 2017) to clear my head. This is the first of my new material - different for me! I wish the singing was better, but after many takes over a few days, this is as good as it gets. Serves me right for getting old! Still needs a few tweaks but I'll think about it for a couple of weeks.
